Our support
Throughout the Company there is a shared appreciation that there are many who are less fortunate than ourselves. And if everyone were to give a little, there are many good causes which would succeed in genuinely improving peoples’ lives.
We are fortunate to work with a number of clients who share this philosophy and we have supported their own good work by offering our services at little or no cost. For example, OCS, the UK’s largest family owned property support services provider, runs the annual Young Sportsperson Awards which supports sport in the community. Each year we help them to promote the awards event, which is held at the Brit Oval and attended by a host of sporting celebrities. The scale of investment they make each year to host this event and in sponsorship donations is simply mammoth, therefore the work we contribute is charged at greatly reduced rates that simply cover our costs.
We also recently helped Grey Court School in Richmond, Surrey, to hold a celebration of sport evening for its pupils, giving our time for free to design and produce invitations and display material for the event.
Young people also benefit from opportunities to join Purebrand for work experience placements and, at the date of publication, we have provided placements for over 14 students from within the local area – a considerable achievement for a Company that’s only 8 years old.
We are working in partnership with Education Leeds to aid in the development of the new Diploma in Creative and Media, which will be a fundamental part of the school curriculum from September 2008 and we are actively involved in a number of careers guidance programmes designed to inspire and support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In 2006 we designed and produced a series of charity Christmas cards, choosing to offer our time at no cost, as well as absorbing the print and envelope costs in order to maximise the amount of money raised from their sales to combat poverty in Africa. With our own Christmas cards however, since Christmas 2006 our festive greetings are sent in the form of an ‘e-card’ and the cost of printed cards instead donated to a different charity each year. The benefactors so far have included the NSPCC and Help for Heroes, however the environment also benefits by this approach.
