Our impact
Everyone has a responsibility to reduce the impact that their activities have on the global environment. Whilst there are still areas for improvement, we have already put a number of our own initiatives in place.
Traditionally our business has always been heavily dependent on paper however almost 90% of our paper waste is now recycled, as well as ink and toner cartridges. We have also greatly reduced our contribution to global deforestation by introducing a policy of only printing essential documents wherever possible, choosing instead to archive files electronically, which has the added benefit of making them easier to find when required.
We encourage our customers to embrace the use of recycled paper stocks for all printed literature and, when it comes to our supply-chain, we work closely with our suppliers to ensure that they are also committed to reducing their environmental impact.
Within the office, simple steps have been taken to improve energy-efficiency, by ensuring that lighting, heating and electrical equipment is only turned on when in use. We have recently upgraded a number of computer workstations and monitors to low-energy models and TFT displays, which are programmed to automatically shut-down at the end of the working day should the user forget.
As with very aspect of our business, we are committed to continuous improvement and we are currently evaluating other measures that could be taken to reduce our use of the planet’s limited resources.
