Purebrand finds a novel way to promote libraries

The latest of a number of successful projects for Leeds City Council has seen Purebrand create a new campaign to promote the city’s libraries.

With the aim of raising awareness that libraries stock the latest best sellers as soon as they are released – not just older titles – Purebrand has created an outdoor media campaign, with posters displayed in prominent locations across the city, including Leeds train station and on a number of city centre bus shelter sites.

Four different poster concepts, each featuring one of four genres - romance and ‘chick-lit’, crime and horror – are used to engage readers who buy the latest novels from online retailers and high street bookshops, without necessarily realising that they could borrow the same titles for free from their local library. It is hoped that the campaign will raise awareness for library services and encourage younger readers to become regular library users.
