Gamestation
The retail sector is renowned for being ultra-competitive and few new start-up video games retailers make it to the next level. A strong identity is vital and the re-branding exercise we undertook for Gamestation gave birth to a brand that was to help them to become the UK’s second-largest player on the high-street.
The second-phase of the brand development was to create a dynamic new store design, which soon became the blueprint for all 60+ branches nationwide. The new look helped Gamestation to make a major impact on the high street as well as within the industry, by picking up the award for Best Retailer Interior from leading industry magazine MCV.
With sales soaring, within 12 months Gamestation grew to over 200 outlets before being acquired by Blockbuster’s parent company Viacom. With their backing Gamestation took their successful formula overseas and in 2004 Purebrand helped them to open stores in the USA and Australia.
